India-China Border Dispute Intensifies Ahead of BRICS Summit
A fact-finding report by politicians from the region of Arunachal Pradesh alleges that Chinese troops have stopped Indian troops from reaching some of the important border patrols stations like Taksing and Shera 5 while simultaneously intruding into the territory. It is also claimed that due to the difficult climate, Indian troops cannot patrol some areas for months, which gives Chinese troops time to secure their territory. Despite denial by the Indian military of these allegations, these statements have brought about criticism on the current government headed by PM Modi on the eve of the BRICS summit to be held in India. Despite having a number of disputes regarding the borders since 1962 along with military tensions, economic relations continue to thrive between the two countries.
